Hi, to everyone! It's almost Halloween, then its Thanksgiving, and then Christmas; and it just doesn't seem possible. It really is true that time moves faster the older we get, at least for me.
December means a couple of us will be 50! That's half a century! I'm not even worried about the lines and gray hairs. I feel as if I've earned them...and then some. But, 50! Wow! I was hoping to finish my degree by 50, but I'm not going to make it. I've had to take a few months off here and there because I just wasn't doing very well, healthwise. Hope to finish by May. Why didn't I listen when I was told to finish school at 20? Guess I had my head in the clouds or something! Really stupid, always listen to your elders. Does 50 make you an elder?
It also may be true that with age comes wisdom, but I'm still waiting to be struck with that bolt of lightning. I know I move slower these days, so God shouldn't have trouble aiming for me!
I hope all of you have great weekend, wonderful weather, healthy family, etc.
Love to all!

Grandparent's Day
Today was Grandparent's Day! I'll be sending flowers to Grandma tomorrow, I didn't get them sent last week! I really thought it was next Sunday. I know... it's just another day that the card companies make money, but everyone wants to be remembered.
Maybe there will be a 'Dorothy's Day,' soon! I'm sure there are no 'new' Dorothy's born these days. Any Dorothy I meet is at least 50, if not MUCH older. I think the Census Bureau says that the name peaked in the '40's. Probably right after Wizard of Oz premiered and Dorothy Lamour quite making movies! It hasn't made the top 100 names in the country since then. Dorothy's are an endangered species! I'm sure that warrants a day on the calendar and a tax deductible donation scheme! I should make use of my newly acquired marketing skills and get busy with plans for 'Dorothy's Day.' I'll need a website, posters, a walk-a-thon, and donation letters! I'll let you know when you can start celebrating!
Have a good week. Love to all.

A fun little update
Hey everybody! It's your favorite cousin, Jennie Vance! Well, I finally moved into my new (extremely tiny apartment). Sue and I are finding it a very comfortable, if not tight, fit. School just started back, so with that and work it's been really busy around here. Anyway, I hope we'll hear from some others on here. Love you guys! :)

Busy Morning
Hi! Our church is in revival beginning this morning, so I've been up cooking for lunch at church. Joe always likes it when some one else comes in to do the music because he gets to sing in the choir. Hope all of you are having a good weekend.

Hi everyone!
Hello all! Well, my mom finally decided I was good enough to be let in on the family blog, so here I am. If she hasn't seen fit to update any of you on my status (as I'm sure you were all dying to know), I'm still working on my Bachelor's here at the University of Southern Mississippi. I'm moving into a smaller apartment in a couple weeks, and I have a little kitty named Sue. Here's a video of me playing with her.

Hunter Update
"Grandma Frankie" told me last night that little Hunter is thought to have an acid reflux problem and it is causing him to lose weight. He's lost 7 oz., which doesn't sound like much; but when you only weigh 9 lbs 4 oz, it's a lot of weight! Please keep him, and Keri & Brad, in your prayers.

1964 - We worried about nothing!

Well, maybe we didn't worry about anything, but I'm sure our parents did...how to keep our feet from growing? That's one I heard a lot!
A little bit of research on Google told me that gas was 30 cents a gallon when this picture was taken! But, average salaries were $6,000 a year. Bread? 21 cents. Monthly rent? $115. A car? $3,500. Oh, and postage...5 cents! So, does it just about even out?
Well, I found this picture while looking for something else, and I must get ready for church tonight. Have a nice week and love to all.

Newest Cousin

This is Hunter Lane Risher, born April 23 to Keri and Brad Risher, Morton, MS. This picture was taken on May 9 and even with Keri and me talking to him, he just wouldn't wake up! He's gaining weight (I think Grandma Frankie told me he is over 5 lbs. now) and doing great.
He can't appreciate it now, but his room has a full wall mural of a forest sunset complete with a family of deer that look like they could just step into his room. His other Grandma is painting it for him.

Joe and I celebrate #23!
It's our 23rd wedding anniversary, and Mother's Day! Happy Mother's Day to you guys, too.
Joe and I went to Hattiesburg (home of University of Southern Mississippi) to see Jennie. She didn't mention grades and we didn't either! She still says she will graduate in December, though. Went out to lunch, shopping and to a movie, and then went to eat supper with her and her boyfriend, Josh, before we left to come home. It's an hour and a half drive to Hattiesburg which is really tiring for me and we did a lot of walking around and climbing stairs to her apartment. So, I spent Sunday laying around! I'm not very social when it comes to holidays any more, anyway. Joe went to see his Mother after church, I slept.
I sent flowers to Grandma from all of us and our children. I hope she enjoyed them. There are 8 grandchildren, 14 greats, and 3 great-greats!

Welcome!
I hope all of you will post on this. We can share pictures, stories, whatever! Some of us will be reaching 50 soon, a couple are already grandparents. It will be a great way for us to keep up with each other and our growing families.
